The Tasmanian Government would like to congratulate all involved in the Tasmanian television drama The Kettering Incident, which has attracted impressive ratings since its launch on Foxtel on 4 July 2016.
The Government, through Screen Tasmania, invested $1 million in the eight-part mystery drama series which was entirely shot in Tasmania.
This week, Foxtel announced that an average of 532,000 viewers had watched the double episode which launched the series. This is an astounding result and a testament to the talent in Tasmania’s creative industries.
Additionally, each episode has been the highest-rating non-sport program of the night on the when it has aired on Showcase.
Created and produced by Launceston’s Vicki Madden of Sweet Potato Films and Vincent Sheehan of Porchlight Films, The Kettering Incident showcases extraordinary Tasmanian landscapes and tells an intrinsically Tasmanian story.
Tasmanian cast and crewmembers have been highlighted in the production with Tasmanian actors Alison Whyte, Kris McQuade, Brad Kannegiesser, Katie Robertson, Marcus Hensley, Nathan Spencer and Matt Burton sharing the screen with stars Elizabeth Debicki and Matthew Le Nevez.
The Kettering Incident continues on Monday at 8.30pm on the Showcase Channel, with a special encore screening of episodes 1-4 broadcasting from 5.30 this Saturday.
In addition to the financial investment made by the Tasmanian Government, the series was co-financed by Screen Australia and Foxtel, with global distribution rights held by BBC Worldwide.
