Tasmania has performed strongly again to be ranked in 4th spot nationally in CommSec’s latest State of the States report, recording the best population growth in seven years.
The report highlights Tasmania’s continued robust performance under the Hodgman Liberal Government and provides further proof that our long-term Plan is working.
Tasmania remains top-ranked on relative population growth, and we have lifted from third to second position on equipment investment.
Commsec highlights that the number of dwelling starts is up nearly 30 per cent. Combined with our $125 million investment into affordable housing, this will help boost housing supply to tackle the challenges we are facing.
Impressively, Tasmania was just one of two States that recorded equipment spending in the December quarter above decade-average levels.
