TasInvest 2017: Taking Tasmania to Japan

The Hodgman Liberal Government is taking the best Tasmania has to offer to the world through our trade, tourism and investment offerings with the TasInvest 2017 expo in Tokyo on February 27-28.

Following the success of TasInvest 2014 in Hobart which saw delegates from across Asia come to Tasmania to explore our products and investment opportunities, we are now taking TasInvest to Asia.

Over the two-day TasInvest 2017 forum and expo, participants will have the opportunity to learn about Tasmania’s economic, cultural and environmental strengths and specifically investment opportunities, as well as sample some of our world-class produce.

TasInvest 2017 caters to genuine high-level Japanese investors known to be interested in Tasmania’s key industries including agribusiness, renewable energy and tourism infrastructure.

Twelve prominent Tasmanian businesses will join government officials at TasInvest 2017 to meet with Japanese government, business, investment, cultural and tourism leaders.

TasInvest 2017 aims to capitalise on the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement and the current favourable economic climate to open doors for leading Tasmanian businesses to the Japanese business network and further grow job opportunities in Tasmania.

The TasInvest 2017 forum and expo includes:

− The Tasmania Open for Business plenary session.

− High level government-to-government meetings.

− Investment information sessions on agribusiness, renewable energy and tourism.

− One-on-one investment meetings with key business leaders in each of our key export sectors.

− A gala Tasmanian food and beverage networking event to be attended by over 100 key Japanese business and government representatives.

TasInvest 2017 is a key strategy in promoting our state to Japan and to showcase Tasmania’s capabilities in key sectors while leading the way to an even stronger Tasmanian-Japanese future.

TasInvest 2017 is part of the Tasmanian Government’s East Asia Trade and Investment Mission.
