The Liberal Government is diligently working to secure an opportunity to showcase our state to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
I extended a personal invitation to visit Tasmania to the President shortly after being elected as Premier. The President's attendance at the G20 Leaders Summit in Brisbane in November provides a great opportunity for this to happen.
A dedicated project team has been established to ensure we can make the most of a visit, should we be fortunate enough to host the President in Tasmania.
We will host TasInvest 2014 during the week starting November 17. TasInvest, which will include high level facilitation activities to help match investors and proponents, will open up the commercial opportunities that exist in Tasmania to international investors.
We are already identifying large-scale investment opportunities that can be showcased through TasInvest across agriculture, aquaculture, resources, tourism, education and other key sectors ready for major investment.
The Liberal Government is committed to attracting major investment to the state to deliver jobs, growth and opportunities to Tasmania.
