Personnel from Tasmania’s emergency services will be deployed today to assist Queensland in their recovery after Cyclone Debbie.
Tasmanians know full well the devastating impact these extreme weather events can have and we are more than willing to assist our interstate colleagues in their recovery from this very serious weather event.
The Taskforce will incorporate three personnel from the Tasmania Fire Service, one from the State Emergency Service and one from Parks and Wildlife. They will assist in logistics, planning and operations support while working in Incident Management Teams.
Our emergency services stand ready to assist with further resources as required.
Our thoughts go out to the Queensland communities affected by this disaster and I thank the Taskforce for their willingness to help on short notice.
