Supporting young Tasmanians

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a plan for all Tasmanians to be part of a brighter future, and our young Tasmanians play an integral part in that.

I’m pleased to announce the thirteen successful applicants for the Youth Week Tasmania 2019 Grants Program.

The Program is aimed at encouraging young Tasmanians to deliver inclusive, innovative and creative events and activities as part of Youth Week Tasmania 2019.

Youth Week Tasmania is an annual celebration that recongises and celebrates the value of all young Tasmanians aged 12 to 25 years, and begins on April 10.

The funded events include:

  • SCAMJAM, a BMX and scooter expo and competition in St Helens;
  • Youth Showcase: Pop up in the Arcade for young people to showcase their creative abilities, small enterprises and leadership skills in Launceston;
  • Youth Twilight Market and Festival in Glenorchy; and
  • Launch into the Future, a two-day event to engage young people on King Island to shape their community’s future.

The list of the successful applicants is available at www.communities.tas.gov.au.
