We welcome the very encouraging announcement that Venture Minerals plans to commence production at its Riley Iron Ore Mine.
This will be a massive injection of confidence for Tasmania’s West Coast, with the mine expected to create up to 100 extra jobs in the region once production starts.
My Government strongly supports the mining industry, and since 2014 has supported Venture Minerals through the process of recommencing operations at the Riley site and in further exploration at its flagship Mt Lindsay tin deposit.
The company have recently announced that work is expected to commence soon with the first shipment from the Riley Mine planned for later this year.
The Government will strongly progress opportunities in our industries that support jobs, especially in our resource rich North West and West Coast regions.
