Supporting Walk4BrainCancer

Today I’m taking part in the Walk4BrainCancer in Margate – an event that highlights the important work the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation does, while also raising much needed funds.

Brain cancer kills more children and young people under 40 in Australia than any other cancer. The Foundation supports and funds research projects worldwide, and their mission is to increase the five-year survival rates from 20 per cent to 50 per cent by 2023.

Since the first Walk4Life 15 years ago, Walk4BrainCancer has grown from a community walk to a powerful grassroots movement, with walks held right across Australia.

As well as raising money, Walk4BrainCancer is an opportunity for survivors to share their stories, for families and friends to remember loved ones, and for the community to come together and support a very worthy cause.

This is a cause close to my heart, and it’s an opportunity for me to honour and remember my friend and colleague Vanessa Goodwin, as well as another close friend.
