Supporting Tasmania's arts community

The Tasmanian Government is very closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation with regard to COVID-19 and its potential impacts on the cultural and creative industries, and our community.

The decision to limit mass participation public events for over 500 people will impact a range of individuals, events and organisations.

On Friday we established an events hotline to provide assistance to organisers of events. That number is 1300 880 634.

Those artists and arts organisations whose activities may be affected should contact Arts Tasmania directly who will work with organisers to enable funded activities to be revised or rescheduled wherever possible.

At this time, our priority is looking after the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians and safeguarding Tasmanian businesses and jobs, and we have been working very closely with our Federal colleagues through the development of national stimulus initiatives that will help to provide local support.

We have also committed to responding with a Tasmanian stimulus program to leverage off the Federal Government’s support package. The first tranche of this program will be announced today.
