Supporting Tasmanian students

The Hodgman Liberal Government’s Plan to improve education in Tasmania is clear.

We know there is more to do, which is why we will Build Your Future with our goal of being at or above the national average on all NAPLAN measures by 2020, with a target of increasing the retention rate of Year 10-12 students to at or above the national average by 2022, and to have 75 per cent of all students in Year 12 complete their TCE by 2022.

We have employed an additional 60 full time equivalent support staff and over 100 more teachers than were employed under Labor – who sacked over 100 teachers when in government.

The Australian Education Union is calling for 250 more teachers to be employed - what is Labor’s position?
