Supporting positive employment outcomes for the Aged Services sector

The Hodgman Government is committed to a strong aged care services sector, and one way we are doing this is by making sure aged care nurses have the essential skills to provide specialist care in the area.

Today I announced the launch of an online Aged Services Workforce Development Hub to boost employment growth in the sector, supported by a $150,000 grant from the Hodgman Liberal Government.

This significant announcement came as I presented 27 new aged services nursing graduates with their credentials at Aged and Community Services Australia’s (ACSA) Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Training Program graduation ceremony.

The new Aged Services Workforce Hub is a sector-wide initiative to help with recruitment and training for the aged services workforce and will support these new graduate nurses and others in the sector to provide a higher standard of care for ageing Tasmanians.

The Hub will provide training and development, online resources, professional events, recruitment advice, and a variety of other useful information and be the key focus of workforce development and recruitment activities for the sector.
