The Tasmanian Government believes that boosting skills within the agricultural sector is a key way to grow and diversify the industry.
The Government has enjoyed a strong partnership with the University of Tasmania and Blundstone to support the Blundstone Scholarship for Agribusiness which aims to help address longstanding issues around the shortage of skilled agricultural experts.
The Tasmanian Government has a plan to grow the value of Tasmanian agricultural production to $10 billion by 2050 and boosting skill levels is a vital key to help achieve this.
A mid-year application round for scholarships is now open and closes on July 26 for commencing and continuing students undertaking Associate Degrees in Agribusiness in Term 3, 2020.
The scholarships pay up to $4000 a year to full-time students, for up to two years, or pro-rata for part-time students for up to four years.
These Associate Degrees in Agriculture are aimed at upskilling the people who will staff farms and businesses across a wide spectrum and help give them a competitive edge.
