Supporting a More Effective TasTAFE

The Liberal Government supports the plan to transform TasTAFE to a more effective and competitive organisation that can continue to provide training that aligns with the Tasmanian job market.

Labor and the Greens promised efficiencies when TasTAFE formed in 2012, but as usual they failed to deliver it. This is the appropriate next stage of TasTAFE's development – these are the types of efficiency gains that should be expected when you take two organisations and turn them into one.

TasTAFE is an independent statutory authority, governed by an impressive industry-based board and the Government applauds their plans to transform the organisation to be more efficient and competitive.

Unlike Labor and the Greens, this Government wants TasTAFE to be efficient, and to adapt to operating sustainably in a more open and competitive training market.

Again, we're cleaning up the mess left by Labor and the Greens.
