Successful Autism Support Program heads North

The Hodgman Liberal Government believes all students are entitled to a good education so they can reach their full potential.

That’s why we are extending the Autism Class Support Program.

Following the success of the Autism Class Support Program at Rose Bay High School and Lindisfarne North Primary School, the program has been extended to Summerdale Primary School in Launceston and Romaine Park Primary School in Burnie.

This program allows children with autism to reach their full potential while remaining in a mainstream school environment.

The program helps ensure students reach their learning potential and independence, while improving social skills and developing self-regulatory abilities.

Today's announcement shows the Hodgman Government is serious about improving education outcomes for all students.

With the Budget back in balance the Hodgman Government is investing more in support for students with disability than ever before. This year’s Budget included $6 million more in funding to support students with disability - $16 million more than when Labor and the Greens were in Government.

The Hodgman Government is absolutely committed to ensuring students with disability are supported throughout their education so they can succeed in education and in life.
