Geoff Willis, Chair, Tasmanian Energy Security Taskforce

Submissions received by Tasmanian Energy Security Taskforce

The Tasmanian Energy Security Taskforce is reviewing all submissions made in response to its Consultation Paper now that the submissions period has closed.

The Taskforce is chaired by Mr Geoff Willis AM, with its other members being Ms Sibylle Krieger and Mr Tony Concannon.

In undertaking its independent energy security risk assessment for Tasmania, the Taskforce released a Consultation Paper seeking public input in August.

31 submissions were received from a broad cross section of the community, including individuals, business customers, industry peak bodies, community organisations and energy sector participants.

The submissions provided a wide range of well-considered views for the Taskforce to consider as it undertakes its assessment.

Mr Willis said “the Taskforce wishes to thank the individuals and organisations who took the time to share their valuable views on this important topic.

The issues raised in the submissions will be carefully considered as we prepare our interim report.”

The Taskforce will deliver an interim report within six months, with its final report to be provided to Government by mid-2017.

Submissions can be viewed on the Taskforce’s website at http://www.stategrowth.tas.gov.au/tasmanian_energy_security_taskforce
