The latest ANZ Stateometer report has confirmed Tasmania’s economy remains in a strong position leading up to this year’s budget.
The report confirmed the Tasmanian economy is growing at “above trend” rates, with economic activity remaining above trend for the fourth consecutive quarter.
In particular, the report states “The biggest positive for the economy was the labour market”, which is no surprise considering we have created more than 11,000 jobs since first being elected.
The report also expects Tasmania’s economy to keep improving thanks to the strong performance of our exports and a 36 per cent increase in international tourist flows.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is continuing to put the right economic framework in place to encourage job creation and investment and this is yet another report that confirms our plan is working.
