Strong November Retail Trade statistics

Since the March 2014 election, the Hodgman Liberal Government has been working hard to implement our long-term Plan for economic growth and job creation in Tasmania.

Business confidence is up, retail and export statistics continue to go from strength-to-strength, and more than 10,000 jobs have been created since the election of a majority Hodgman Liberal Government.

The latest figures released by the ABS today confirms that November was the 18th consecutive month where retail turnover has topped more than $500 million.

This is a fantastic result, with retail trade topping $522.2 million for November 2017 in trend terms, up 0.2 per cent, or $1.1 million from the previous month.

Tasmanian retail trade is above the national average, which  was estimated to have increased by 0.1 per cent in November 2017 when compared to the previous month.

While this is great news, we won’t let the results distract us as we continue to Build Your Future, and a re-elected majority Hodgman Liberal Government will continue to progress our Plan for job creation and economic growth in Tasmania.
