Strathdevon influenza outbreak

My heart goes out to the family and friends of those affected by the influenza outbreak at Strathdevon as we do whenever people pass away.

This is a sad and difficult time for those affected.

While aged care homes are regulated by the Commonwealth Government, I have full confidence in the Tasmanian Director of Public Health and Public Health Services in supporting the community generally during what has been a very difficult flu season.

I again remind everybody to take precautions against flu, including immunisation for anyone over six months of age especially those at risk of severe flu, and simple measures such as regular hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding others when ill.
