Two Smarter Fleet Programs aimed at reducing Tasmanians transport emissions have commenced targeting heavy vehicles and electric vehicles in Local Government.
These programs will help reduce fuel costs by improving Tasmania’s heavy vehicle fleet efficiency and promote the uptake of electrical vehicles in Local Government.
To launch these programs, workshops will be held to provide further information for those interested in participating.
The workshop for the Smarter Fleets Program – Heavy Vehicles will be held on Tuesday 24 July, 12.30 – 2.30pm at the Sebel in Launceston.
Two workshops for the Smarter Fleets Program – Electric Vehicles in Local Government will be held on:
Since 2015, the Tasmanian Government’s Smarter Fleets Program has been helping vehicle fleets to reduce vehicle emissions and fuel costs by providing tailored information, guidance and support.
Tasmania’s transport sub-sector has the highest greenhouse gas emissions of all the sub-sectors of the State’s economy, and vehicle fleet costs are a significant expense for Tasmanian Government, local government and private sector fleets.
