Slippery Nick Strikes Again

Slippery Nick is at again. No wonder he was sacked as Education Minister, he can't do maths or read a table.

As I have said constantly, the Tasmanian Government schools will have a minimum five per cent increase in the Fairer Funding Model component of their School Resource Package.

Slippery Nick is being deceitful by referring to preliminary figures.

As a former Education Minister, Mr McKim should remember that as is the case every year, the Department of Education provides initial funding for schools based on preliminary enrolment figures provided in October 2014.

Once the census details are finalised around April each year, schools receive additional funding in line with any increase in enrolments.

This means the figures for 2015 staffing and school resources packages are not accurate.

The accurate data for 2015 enrolments and SRP funding is not available yet.

Slippery Nick deceitfully overlooked this detail which was clearly outlined in the documents he has been referring to.

I strongly urge Mr McKim to stop his scaremongering campaign and focus on the facts.
