Sitting schedule changes

Following consultation with Legislative Councillors, there will be some minor changes to the Upper House sitting schedule.

The sitting week of 6, 7 and 8 September will now be swapped with a new sitting week on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 October (no private members’ time day).

This will allow time for a thorough and comprehensive consideration of the proposed changes to the Education Act, which by then is expected to have passed the Lower House.

The Government believes it is very important that the Education Act changes are thoroughly considered and debated in the Upper House, and this slight change to the sitting schedule will ensure that occurs.
