Senate Inquiry just more political rock throwing

The report from the Senate Inquiry is just the latest attempt by Labor and the Greens to throw rocks.

The fact that the report itself fails to even mention the impact of policy positions of the former Government including the carbon tax, when it is a matter of public record that massive amounts of water in Tasmania’s reserves were used to export energy to the mainland, shows it to be the political document it is.

Tasmanians have legitimate questions about the impact policy positions of the former Government had on energy security and yet the report fails to even mention it.

The report calls for an independent inquiry but inexplicably fails to acknowledge that two independent inquiries will in fact be conducted into energy in Tasmania.

This includes an independent inquiry conducted by the powerful Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

The Government won’t be distracted from the task.  We will continue to roll out our Energy Supply Plan, which is delivering energy security and helping to rebuild our water storages.
