Save the Children Mothers Day lunch

Today I had the pleasure of attending Save the Children’s Mothers Day lunch to help celebrate the challenging and rewarding job that is motherhood.

As a mother of four I understand the crucial role that mothers play in nurturing and shaping the lives of their children. Mothers are an important influence on their children, passing on their knowledge and experience to shape the next generation of mothers.

Save the Children carry out imperative work to support vulnerable children in the community. Their work includes early childhood education programs and practical parenting programs in Australia, which are aimed at providing vulnerable children with the best possible start in life.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has provided funding of $1.8 million over three years to support the state-wide delivery of two Save the Children programs, the Supporting Young People on Bail and Post-Detention Transition Programs.

The programs are aimed at assisting young people who have offended to re-engage with education, and to prevent re-offending in the future.

I would like to wish all Tasmania’s mothers a happy Mothers Day for Sunday!
