RHH REDEVELOPMENT UPDATE

The Managing Contractor, John Holland Fairbrother Joint Venture, has advised the RHH Redevelopment project that it has terminated its contract with its subcontractor, AMS Hydraulics Pty Ltd.

RHH Redevelopment Project Director, Ben Moloney, said that significant work was underway with K-Block’s internal fit out, site infrastructure works and the completion of the building’s façade.

“It is critical that we continue to deliver a state-of-the-art health facility for Tasmanians.

“The Managing Contractor will immediately fast track the appropriate procurement of a new hydraulics subcontractor,” Mr Moloney said.

Mr Moloney said that opportunities for the engagement of local workers would be prioritised by the Managing Contractor.

Mr Moloney also said that the contract termination was a commercial matter between the Managing Contractor and AMS Hydraulics.

“We expect that all contractual matters are administered fairly by both parties and that all Australian and Tasmanian laws continue to be adhered to,” Mr Moloney said.

Mr Moloney said that the RHH Redevelopment project would continue to receive regular briefings from the Managing Contractor and monitor the full resolution of the matter.

“The delivery of the project remains on budget and the Managing Contractor’s forecast date for practical completion of the building works remains mid-2019,” Mr Moloney said.
