RHH helipad

The Hodgman Liberal Government has worked closely with the Hobart City Council to ensure there will be ongoing aeromedical access to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Following a meeting last night, the council’s planning committee will recommend to the full council that the process to make amendments to the city’s planning schemes be progressed to the next stage – public exhibition for a 28-day period.

This will ensure that future developers are aware of flight path requirements.

The $689 million redevelopment will deliver a helipad on top of the 10-storey tower to further improve emergency response times and save lives.

Not only did the Hodgman Government save the Royal redevelopment we’re also bringing the state’s major hospital in-line with the rest of the country by installing a $10.5 million helipad onsite.

Labor promised a new hospital by 2016 and did not lay a single brick.

It has taken a Liberal Government to show foresight and determination to deliver the project for Tasmanians.

There is no doubt there are challenges with this project, however the Hodgman Government has made a record investment in health, which will result in more staff and additional capacity for 250-beds at the hospital.
