The Tasmanian Government has today committed to an Independent Review into the coronavirus outbreak in the North West.
It is appropriate in state emergency situations that we conduct an Independent Review to identify key learnings.
While it is my expectation the review could take place before the pandemic ends, I am extremely mindful of the priority focus of senior health officials right now in managing and supporting the response to the outbreak, and any timing of the review would need to take this into account.
This Independent Review will be undertaken by relevant experts following the development of an agreed Terms of Reference.
It has been, and remains, my intention to ensure we have a responsible and transparent approach to our state’s response and management to COVID-19.
