While there is still a lot of work to do, today’s retail figures showing retail growth of 0.6 percent for March are further evidence that the State is now heading in the right direction.
In fact, March’s growth figure was the equal highest of all states, and has risen 1.7 percent for the first three months of the year, second only to Queensland’s 1.8 per cent increase.
These figures are also an important indicator that Tasmanians now have more confidence about the future.
But we think we can do even better, that’s why the upcoming budget will be all about capitalising on the gains we have made, and building on the momentum.
