Remedial Works to Regatta Point in Strahan

Tourists continue to venture to Tasmania’s West Coast to explore its natural beauty and historic significance, and the Hodgman Liberal Government is acting to provide a safe, quality experience for locals and tourists alike who use the area.

The Hodgman Government acknowledges the importance of tourist infrastructure, particularly in regional areas like Strahan, to boost visitor numbers and assist with achieving our goal of attracting 1.5 million visitors to the State by 2020.

Tenders are being called to conduct repairs the foreshore land in and around Regatta Point in Strahan.

Crown Land Services requires the remedial and stabilisation works to the foreshore after years of high tides and floods have impacted the area.

These improvements will ensure the foreshore can continue to operate as a popular destination for local residents and keep up with increasing tourism demand.

Work at the site will be undertaken from early April until the end of May 2017.

Tenders close on 30 March 2017 - further information will be available on the website https://www.tenders.tas.gov.au/
