Reinvesting in frontline staff

The State Service annual report tabled today confirms the Tasmanian Government’s reinvestment in frontline workers in health, education, child protection and corrections.

With the budget back on track we are able to reinvest in the essential services that Tasmanians need.

The annual report shows an increase in staff of 126 in the Tasmanian Health Service, 175 in Education, 36 in Health and Human Services and 60 in Justice.

The Government is putting more teachers and support staff in our schools, more nurses in our hospitals and hiring more paramedics to respond to emergency situations.

We have also increased the number of child safety officers to support the most vulnerable children in our community and corrections staff to manage our prisons.

An increase in DPAC staff reflects the transfer of Service Tasmania from DPIPWE .

The Tasmanian Government will continue to invest in frontline staff to deliver the services that Tasmanians expect and deserve.
