Regional Health and Ambulance facilities to benefit from the Government’s construction blitz

The Tasmanian Government has today outlined details of our record two year construction blitz, to build our way out from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Importantly, $10 million will go towards upgrading regional health and ambulance facilities in Tasmania.

These upgrades will provide better facilities for both staff and patients in our regional health facilities and improved facilities for paramedics at rural stations.

We have a strong record on delivering better health infrastructure, with our recent record including:

• The $689 million Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment, Tasmania’s largest ever health infrastructure project;
• A new $6.5 million Kingston Health Centre;
• The greenfield $12.1 million St Helens Hospital;
• A dedicated Mersey Helipad;
• New $4.2 million Rehabilitation Ward at the Mersey;
• A $1.8 million Latrobe Ambulance Station facilities upgrade; and
• The long-awaited $2.5 million Midlands Multi-Purpose Centre Upgrade.
