Tasmania’s record run in the retail sector has continued with ABS figures released today confirming 44 consecutive months of continuous growth.
Retail trade in June 2018 grew the fastest in Australia, to $541 million for the month in trend terms, and is the 25th consecutive month topping half a billion dollars.
We have created over 14,600 jobs since the 2014 election, and these great figures show the benefits as Tasmanians spend more in local businesses and add to their local economies.
Since June last year, Retail trade has grown by 4.6 per cent, which is the second highest growth in Australia.
Our long term plan is all about putting in the right economic conditions to allow businesses to grow and employ more Tasmanians, and today’s ABS figures show our plan is working to improve the lives of Tasmanians.
