ABS figures released today show that there are more Tasmanians in work than ever before.
A record 245,600 people were employed in Tasmania in June, the figures show.
That’s an increase of 1,200 on the previous month and importantly, 800 of those new jobs were full-time.
Overall, 10,500 jobs have been created under the Hodgman Government, that’s an average of nine new jobs created each and every day that we have been in Government.
It’s also telling that the participation rate continues to rise, which shows that people have more confidence to go out and look for work.

If we can help more young people find work, we will help them stay in Tasmania and build a future right here at home.
The $25 million youth employment strategy includes:
There are a number of other measures in the Budget that will help all Tasmanians right around the State find work, such as the $60 million Tasmanian Economic Stimulus Scheme, which alone will support up to 800 direct and indirect jobs and will allow councils to bring forward much needed infrastructure projects.
