Rebecca White’s breath-taking double standards exposed in Parliament today demonstrate once again that she has no principle and no policies.
The fact is, the only Members of Parliament who have stood down public servants on mass while in Government are sitting on the Labor-Green benches.
When the former Labor-Green Government which Ms White was part of stood down corrections officers at Risdon, Rebecca White said nothing. Now, she refers to stand-downs as ‘hostile and extreme’.
When confronted with her hypocrisy in Parliament, Ms White, eight years after the fact, suddenly claimed she didn’t support the actions of the Government she was part of.
It is very clear that Ms White, the Labor Party and the Union bosses are deliberately escalating industrial action to cause disruptions because they think it is beneficial to their political campaigns.
The Government makes no apologies for protecting Tasmanians’ rights and urges union leaders to come back to negotiations and de-escalate their threats to cancel surgeries and disrupt health services.
