RE-ISSUED - Celebration of LINC-ed services in Glenorchy

Today I had the privilege of officially opening the redeveloped Glenorchy Service Tasmania and LINC site at Terry Street in Glenorchy.

In January of this year I announced that local company Vos Construction had been awarded the tender to complete the works, and they have worked tirelessly to deliver this vibrant new space in Glenorchy on time.

This important $1.1 million project links two vital services under one roof, with benefits for customers and staff alike.

The works to integrate Service Tasmania and the LINC are a win for the people of Glenorchy, and for the delivery of smarter, integrated services in our local communities.

The new facility will allow better interactions between the two services, which will deliver benefits to customers. Customers will now have literacy help or support available when they need it most, and staff will be able to assist them to make online, self-service government transactions.

This will be the first Service Tasmania site to pilot an electronic queueing system, which will provide a more comfortable and efficient experience for customers.

The site now provides new meeting room facilities for the community to utilise, public restrooms, and improved workspaces for staff.

I am sure that the local community will enjoy making use of this space for many years to come.

This development is the latest in a number of investments made in the direct vicinity by the Hodgman Liberal Government, including the Glenorchy Health Centre, Glenorchy Primary School upgrade, Brooker Highway upgrades and the new Glenorchy Police Station. All of these developments provide jobs, investment and growth in the local community.
