Re-appointment of Chief Commissioner of the Integrity Commission

I am pleased to announce the Governor has re-appointed Mr Greg Melick AO SC to the position of the Chief Commissioner of the Integrity Commission.

Mr Melick is a highly qualified and nationally respected legal figure, having previously worked in both private practice and government legal services, and is a former Statutory Member of both the National Crime Authority and the New South Wales Casino Control Authority.

His current roles include serving as the part-time Deputy President of the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Major General in the Australian Defence Force Reserves, Special Investigator for Cricket Australia, and as a Barrister with Michael Kirby Chambers.

Mr Melick was originally appointed to the position for two years commencing on 17 August 2015, and he has now been reappointed for five years.

As required by the Integrity Commission Act, Mr Melick’s nomination for the position was the subject of consultation with Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Integrity.
