Ravenswood Spectacular focuses on family violence

Congratulations to Ravenswood Heights Primary School on Ravenswood Spectacular, a song project building awareness and education about intergenerational change and family violence.

Songwriter Rob ‘Rav’ Thomas worked with students to compose and record the song, which sends a clear message that family violence is not OK.

The project was run by Colony47 as part of their ‘Building Safer Communities for Women – what will it take?’ project which has been funded by the Australian Government.

Colony47 has worked with the Ravenswood community over the past 12 months on a range of projects addressing primary prevention and support for women and children experiencing family violence.

Eliminating family violence remains a top priority for the Tasmanian Government.

Under Safe Homes, Safe Families:Tasmania’s Family Violence Action Plan 2015-2020 the Tasmanian Government has committed $26 million to new and direct actions to better respond to family violence in Tasmania.

If you or someone you know is impacted by family violence, call the Safe at Home Family Violence Response and Referral Line on 1800 633 937 or visit 1800respect.org.au. In an emergency, always call 000.
