Putting the Coal River Valley’s wineries on the map

With 16 cellar doors and 32 vineyards owned and operated by some of Tasmania’s best known wine makers, the Coal River Valley is a premium destination for Tasmanian wine.

Launched today, the Richmond Wine Wall encourages visitors to take advantage of all the region has to offer.

The Wall features plaques detailing over 20 cellar door venues and vineyards located throughout the Coal River Valley wine district.

This initiative has been funded by local organisations in a demonstration of their shared commitment to growing visitation.

The Government supported local tourism operators, the Clarence City Council and Destination Southern Tasmania to develop a Destination Action Plan for the Coal River Valley to encourage visitors to stop and stay longer in the region.

The Plan identifies key priorities and actions to boost the growth and sustainability of the visitor economy in the region.

My Government is committed to the sustainable growth of our tourism industry, to ensure even more Tasmanians have the opportunity to share in and benefit from the visitor economy.

The Coal River Valley has all the ingredients to become one of Tasmania’s most iconic and most popular destinations.
