The 2016-17 Metro Annual Report confirms the Hodgman Liberal Government’s commitment to providing a sustainable public transport system for Tasmanians both now and in the future.
The Report confirmed boardings are increasing with 8.18 million passenger journeys on Metro buses for 2016-17. Importantly, overall passenger satisfaction as revealed by the customer Satisfaction Survey was 78 per cent, exceeding the target of 75 per cent.
These are great outcomes for Metro and confirm the need for the 100 new buses that we announced as part of the 2015-16 Budget, which has created jobs for the North West coast. Elphinstone has advised the construction of the new fleet is on track with the first bus to be delivered before the end of this year.
