Polling shows voters don't trust Labor to support salmon jobs

Recent polling by the Green-leaning Australia Institute in the Franklin electorate has confirmed Tasmanians don’t trust Labor when it comes to the salmon industry.

A question on who was trusted to ``lead a fish farming industry that takes economic, social and environmental factors into account’’ saw Labor attract a woeful 17.4 per cent compared to the Greens on 26.2 per cent - who want to shut the industry down!

These figures show that voters aren’t fooled by Ms White’s small target strategy and soft support for salmon jobs – Labor tells its AWU bosses that it supports salmon farming at Okehampton Bay but privately tell local residents the opposite.

The same polling also confirms that the Hodgman Liberal Government, on 32.9 per cent, is the most trusted to ensure that Tasmania has a sustainable world-class salmon industry that can continue to grow and create jobs in regional Tasmania.

Bec White’s false façade means Tasmanians just don’t know what they will get with Labor and clearly don’t trust them to manage the industry and protect salmon jobs.
