Point to Pinnacle to reach new heights with extra funding

The Point to Pinnacle is an iconic Tasmanian event we want to take to the next level.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is providing $100,000 over the next three years to help organisers extend the reach of this event to further increase interstate and international visitor numbers to the State.

This event is billed as the world’s toughest half marathon and consistently achieves a capacity field of 3,000, with 470 people from interstate competing in 2016.

Our support means organisers have also been able to move ahead with plans to add a new 10 km 'Point to Pub' event which begins at Wrest Point and finishes at the Fern Tree Tavern, with an extra 500 spots for participants.

The Point to Pinnacle is uniquely Tasmanian, featuring two of Hobart's greatest landmarks, making it a real drawcard for visitors.

The Point to Pinnacle and Point to Pub take place on 19 November 2017, and I am very much looking forward to taking part in it.
