Patron restrictions for indoor venues

The health and wellbeing of Tasmanians is our number one priority as we face the challenges presented to us by the coronavirus pandemic.

This is why non-essential indoor gatherings of greater than 100 people (including staff) will no longer be permitted in an effort to lower the risk of coronavirus spreading through our community.

There are a range of complexities in introducing these measures and further information will be available to venue operators and the public within the coming days to help guide decision making.

We understand that these are extremely difficult times for businesses, which is why we have introduced a range of financial support through our $420 million package announced by the Premier yesterday.

We have also met with the Tasmanian business community to ensure a coordinated approach to the challenges that lie before us.

If your business has been affected by cancellations both now and in forward bookings due to the coronavirus, please contact Business Tasmania on 1800 440 026 to discuss your situation and register your impact.

These are challenging times, and as the situation evolves we will continue to explore ways to better support and protect Tasmanians and their livelihoods.
