Palliative Care Awards

I was delighted to attend the 2019 Tasmanian Palliative Care Awards at Government House last night, to help celebrate and recognise excellence across our palliative care sector.

The annual awards showcase the skills and leadership that clinicians, volunteers and organisations demonstrate every day, and highlight the positive difference palliative care workers make to the lives of people living with a life-limiting illness.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government recognises caring for those at end of life is an important, shared responsibility for all Tasmanians. This is why we are committed to ensuring Tasmanians have access to the best possible palliative care services, and their families and carers receive the support they need, when they need it.

I congratulate all of last night's nominees and award winners for their contribution to the palliative care sector in Tasmania.

The 2019 Tasmanian Palliative Care Award recipients:

  • Specialist Palliative Care Service Community Team - Outstanding Palliative Care Organisation
  • Carolyn Bax - Outstanding Palliative Care Professional
  • Julie Siebert - Outstanding Palliative Care Volunteer
