The Tasmanian Government is a strong supporter of our booming tourism industry, which is driving economic growth and job creation across the state.
The Hobart City Council’s approval of the development of the Palace Hotel, which will see the addition of another world-class hotel in Hobart, is greatly welcomed.
The hotel will create more than 60 full-time jobs on an ongoing basis, along with a further 177 jobs during the construction phase, and will attract an estimated $18 million in visitor spending each year.
The visitor economy is thriving with more visitors to the state than ever before in the past year, and this significant investment is another sign of the confidence and demand in the State’s tourism industry.
