One Night Stand rocks St Helens

The eyes and ears of the nation will turn to Tasmania’s East Coast today as we welcome Triple J’s One Night Stand.

From a nomination by a local resident the One Night Stand will showcase the best of regional Tasmania to a national and international audience.

With the likes of Vance Joy, Peking Duk and Tkay Maidza performing on the St Helens Recreation Ground, the entire East Coast is making the most of this opportunity.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of events and festivals in regional Tasmania and we have contributed $45,000 to help ensure the St Helens One Night Stand is the best one yet.

Events like this are vital to our tourism sector and I’m looking forward to speaking to first time visitors to St Helens about our beautiful East Coast and spreading the word about what Tassie has to offer.

Congratulations to the Break O’Day Council and all of the volunteer groups which have banded together to support the event. Triple J’s One Night Stand is expected to draw between 12,000 and 15,000 people and deliver widespread economic benefits to the region.
