Official Opening of Early Learning Hub at Somerset Primary School

A new, purpose-built Early Learning Hub is now open at Somerset Primary School.

The $1.75 million redevelopment includes two new kindergarten classrooms, a dedicated Launching into Learning (LiL) space, two new office spaces and a natural, outdoor play space.

We want to give every young person in Tasmania the best possible opportunities in life, which is why we are providing the biggest ever investment into education infrastructure in Tasmania.

The new facilities have been designed to support the school's growing student population and feature attractive modern learning environments that can better foster the importance of play-based learning in the early years.

The redevelopment was completed by local companies Artas Architects and Stubbs Constructions, supporting local jobs in line with our buy local policy.

Education is the best investment any Government can make as it's an investment in our future, and today marks another important step in our plan to improve the lives of every Tasmanian.
