Office of Racing Integrity acting GM and Director of Racing

Highly regarded Tasmanian Police Inspector John King will act as Tasmania's General Manager of the Office of Racing Integrity and Director of Racing.

Mr King has worked in senior roles within Tasmania Police for more than two decades and is currently Detective Inspector of the Northern Criminal Investigation Branch.

He has also held various positions as a Commissioned Officer in the State and as a Commander and will bring a wealth of experience to the role.

Mr King has been seconded from his position at Tasmania Police in order to take up the role of Director of Racing and General Manager. Mr King will commence in two weeks and will undertake the role for at least 6 months.

The previous Director of Racing, Reid Sanders, resigned just before Easter, and Alicia Fuller, who was to act as Director of Racing until a recruitment process happened to fill the position, resigned this week to take up a new position at Tasracing.

The appointment of Mr King will give certainty and stability to the State’s racing industry and ensure that the Office of Racing Integrity will continue to provide quality integrity services.
