Oatlands District High School redevelopment opened

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to lifting education standards in Tasmania and with our budget under control we are able to re-invest in vital school infrastructure like this redevelopment at the Oatlands District High School.

I’m pleased to join the Premier at the opening of this $500,000 upgrade to the general learning areas for more inclusive and engaging spaces for all students, amenities and the administration area.

Funding for this project has enabled the school to rejuvenate current learning spaces to accommodate students now and into the future.  In addition, an upgrade to the school’s administration area creates a welcoming environment for parents and the school community as well as access to new and improved amenities.

Congratulations to architect Michael Cooper & Associates, and together with builders Tascon Constructions, they have done a wonderful job in bringing the new spaces to life and it was great to have the opportunity to view the spaces first hand today.

Providing students with modern, flexible learning environments is a key part of continuing to improve students' learning outcomes creating a job-ready generation able to participate in building the future of our State.

We want to ensure that young Tasmanians have the opportunity to explore their passions and discover a path to their future career in the most contemporary learning environment possible.
