The new Parks and Wildlife Service Visitor guide showcases Tasmania’s stunning natural environment and is the perfect companion for visitors and locals to explore what Tasmania has to offer.
Our parks and reserves underpin our booming visitor economy and the new visitor guide showcases some of the State’s fantastic tourism experiences ranging from boat cruises, helicopter flights and accommodation.
Even better, the new guide also includes Tasmania’s 60 Great Short Walks, which will not only drive more tourists into our stunning natural areas, but will also encourage more Tasmanians to get out and experience the wonders in their own backyard.
It’s great news for tourism and local businesses in the State and will help us achieve our goal of increasing visitor overnight stays in regional areas by 70 per cent by 2022, and increase the average visitor spend by 50 per cent by 2022.
The guide also includes a profile of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, multi-day bushwalks, mountain biking and our unique animals, and is available for sale for $4.95 from Parks and Wildlife Service visitor centres, most Tasmanian Visitor Information Centres, Spirit of Tasmania ships and Service Tasmania shops. It is also included free of charge as part of the purchase or renewal of an annual or two-year Parks’ pass.
