New units now online across the state

The Hodgman Liberal Government is delivering on our commitment to address Tasmania’s housing shortage with 78 new units now online across the state.

The units are among 114 new dwellings completed and 29 homes refurbished in the last 3 months as part of our first Affordable Housing Action Plan, which will deliver over 900 homes for low-income Tasmanians by this time next year.

While the Tasmanian Government is delivering on its plan to provide real relief for Tasmanians, we know that there is still more work to be done.

That’s why we are investing a further $125 million in the continuation of our Affordable Housing Strategy, starting this year. This is expected to provide an additional 1500 new affordable homes for Tasmanians, and assist around 2000 households over the next five years.

We are also delivering on the outcomes from the housing summit and addressing pressures right across the housing spectrum, and we will continue to roll out initiatives to ensure every Tasmanians has a roof over their heads.
