New partnership to boost jobs in hospitality

The Liberal Government's number one priority is jobs, which is why we are supporting a partnership between the Tasmanian Hotels Association and an employment service provider that will help more Tasmanians find work.

At a time when our unemployment rate is still far too high, it's concerning to hear that some hospitality sector businesses are having difficulties filling vacant positions.

With the Government's support, the THA and employment provider Advanced Personnel Management will conduct a pilot project to match job seekers with jobs in the hospitality industry.

APM is a business that goes the extra mile to help its clients find work and it's fantastic to see that they are partnering with the THA to get more Tasmanians into work.

This pilot project will conduct a survey of THA members to find out where the jobs are, followed by the THA working with APM to place people into those jobs.

The Government will support this initiative with in-kind support and facilitation.

While this is a pilot project, it will run for three years and we look forward to it being a success.
